Secretary's Report 2009

2009 season was a reasonably successful year for the club. The Brinley Lewis evening 10 series was well supported with members competing for the various awards on offer. There were also a good number of riders from other clubs doing private time trials. The club successfully promoted the Enfield open 25 mile time trail on the F1 course, We ran our Spring Road Race again on the Whitwell circuit again and the event went well. The club also ran the St Georges circuit races on the new Redbridge Cycling Centre, Hog Hill circuit this year, a total of six events covering the different categories Social events over the year included the summer barbeque and the Christmas Lunch and Prizegiving. The next social event will be the 60th Anniversary dinner at the Roebuck hotel in Ware on the 31st October. The club did not have so many members competing in open events as previous years Hopefully this will change for the better next year. Organisations such as our cycling club only prosper when as many members as possible contribute to the running of the club. The outgoing committee would welcome some of the newer members to consider joining the committee for 2010. We feel this would be very beneficial to the future of the club.

There have been 11 committee meetings since the 2008 AGM and the attendances were as follows:

Brian Corneloues 11 Fred Meekoms 9, Frank Rasey 11, Nigel Taylor 9, Dave Ingram 4, Avie Yiangou 0, Bill Caton 10, Mark Allen 0

Clubroom

The clubroom is open every Thursday between 8:00 and 10:00 PM. This provides an opportunity for club members to meet each other and the committee regularly and should be supported. Nigel Taylor Hon. Sec.
