Provisional Racing Dates for Open Events 2008

27th April 2008 Dunton Circuit

This event it will be run on the Dunton Circuit. Racing for juveniles, juniors and 1.2.3.4.cats, 1130 hrs more details later.

18th May ERRL 110k Road Race

This event will be on the Whitwell-Codicote- Langley circuit, headquarters will be at The Fellowship Hall, Bendish Lane, Whitwell, Herts. 0930hrs 3.4. Cats.

15th June Club Open 25 miles

The Enfield Trophy Course F1b, HQ Tempsford Village Hall, 0600hrs

Brinley Lewis evening 10 mile events and 25 mile Championship 2008
All on Wednesday Evening. Starting times to be advised.
Points scored from best 7 of 9 events
This year the 1st place will be given 20pts. 2nd.place 19pts. 3rd.place 18pts etc. down to 1point. If more than 20, those riders will be awarded1 point.
No entry form is necessary for the above events but juniors 16-18 years and juveniles, under 16 years must have Parental Consent.
The forms are available from Fred at the Clubroom or from Nigel Taylor the Club Secretary.

Club 25-Mile Championship

This year the club 25 mile Championship will be for the fastest average speed over three best counting events out of four events, the Club evening 25m on the18th June is a compulsory counting event, the other three 25m events are:- ECCA 25 Sunday 4th May course E91 3pm £7-00p entries to A Osborne, 41 Applegarth Drive, Ilford, Essex IG2 7TG

Club Hill-Climb Championship

Wednesday 20th August 7-30 Vineyards Lane 880yds (Handpost Hill) Cuffley Herts.

Please note:

It is compulsory for all riders under 18 years of age to wear a cycle helmet when racing. The club also recommends that all riders in all club events wear a helmet. All members should affiliate to British Cycling or the Cyclist Touring Club.

Club Courses 2008.

Please make sure you know the courses and arrive in time to park and/or collect your number.

Cole Green course

Start at lamp post no 116 in Old Coach Road at Cole Green. Proceed through Birch Green and Staines Green to the "T" Junction on the outskirts of Hertingfordbury. (CARE) Turn left and immediately turn left again (CARE) onto the A414 dual carriageway. Continue west to the first roundabout junction A414/B159, turn left (Care) to Cole Green to complete one lap. Complete a further two circuits to FINISH in old coach road by the start point. Please park in the no through road and keep off all road grass verges and access to houses.

Ware - Puckeridge Course

Start by the entrance to Gentlemens Field industrial estate on the A602 north west of the elevated roundabout over the A10 dual carriage. Proceed approx 40 yards on A602 and take the first left onto the down ward slip road to join the A10 (CARE) northwards. Continue on the carriageway to TURN at the first roundabout (5.2m) with the junction A10/A120. Turn around the roundabout and rejoin the A10 southwards taking (CARE) at the dedicated left turn lane from the A120 eastwards. Continue south on A10 and take the first left onto the A1170 to Ware (9.7) go up the short rise to the roundabout and take the second exit on the A1170 to FINISH five yards past Quincey Road. Please park tidily and quietly in the Wodson Park car park. Allow 10 minutes to ride to the start from the car park.

Rush Green Course

START on A10, in lay-by approximate half a mile south of Rush Green elevated roundabout at post marked 51/29. Proceed on A10 south bound carriageway past exits for Harlow A414 and Hoddesdon A1170 to TURN (4.63 m) by bearing left up the slip road to Turnford elevated roundabout (CARE) circle the roundabout and rejoin the A10 via the downward slip road to join A10 dual carriageway northbound. Retrace to FINISH on northbound carriageway at the north end of lay-by island at post marked 51/30. On finishing the riders must not stop but continue riding to take the first exit to the changing area. No Juveniles (under 16 years) are allowed to ride this 10m course.
